Our soaps are handmade using flowers and herbs grown in our garden. We do this is several different ways. Not only do we infuse our oils with flowers and/or herbs, but we also make teas to use in the soap making process instead of plain water. Another unique addition that we add to all of our soaps is shampoo ginger. Shampoo ginger, also known as awapuhi, is a tropical ginger that forms pinecones. The pinecones, which turn bright red in late summer, produce a wonderfully fragrant liquid that can be squeezed out, which is what we add to our soaps. (Unfortunately, the government does not allow soap makers to make any claims as to the benefits that additional ingredients add to the finished product.)
